Unfortunately for injured workers, those statutes drastically changed in 2014 from a system that favored the employee to a system that, despite what the Legislature says, favors the employer and insurance company. There are also instances where the employer and its insurance company do not accept the injury as compensable or treat the employee fairly under the statutes with regards to ongoing medical care and overall compensation for the injury.
